Is iHealth primary medical care? The iHealth team approach is designed to complement the services of a Medical Doctor as part of overall patient treatment and healing. At iHealth, our mission is to heal the whole patient through collaboration with nutrition coaches, specialists, non-traditional therapies and primary care physicians. We succeed in this by working with our patients to build a treatment plan, which identifies and treats the root cause of diseases. Primary medical services provided by your doctor may be part of your overall treatment plan, but primary care is not a service we currently offer.
What can I expect from an iHealth visit? Our team will evaluate your health concerns, assess your symptoms, and order any necessary tests as needed to determine the root cause of your illness or injury. Laboratory test results, examined by our certified functional medicine practitioner, provide us with the information we need to guide you on a personal path of healing. If we determine that you will benefit from other therapies, we will help you schedule those services. Our health professionals will schedule follow-up visits to track your progress and provide guidance.
Can my services be billed to insurance? Services provided are not typically considered a “covered benefit” by most health insurance plans, however they can be covered by some wellness plans or health savings accounts. Each wellness plan or HSA is different in reimbursement requirements and we will do our best to meet their guidelines. Functional medicine testing is thought to be more than what is considered medically necessary, therefore it is considered preventative and not covered by insurance. We strive to keep our prices affordable for that reason. Calling your HSA or wellness plan representative ahead of time is recommended to find out coverage and needed paperwork.
What kind of bodywork is included? We believe in healthcare that caters to you, so we provide a variety of modalities to help with body pain or stress management. Whether you choose acupuncture, chiropractic, nutrition, reflexology, different forms of massage, or a combination, it’s sure to be matched to your needs and personality.
